CBD oil for dogs
In recent years, there have been a lot of owners in Europe who administer CBD oil to their dog. Many of those owners are never going back, because the choice has been so positive for their pets.
The majority of people buy CBD oil from well-known CBD brands. These are generally products for humans, which means the wishes of the dog are not taken into account. The most important consequence is that the smell and taste are unpleasant. This is already true for humans, but it is even more important for dogs. It is therefore wise to use a separate CBD oil for your dog.
The most suitable CBD oil
So the question, of course, is which CBD oil to choose. We have already done the research for you. Below we will explain why our CBD pet oil is just right for your dog.
CBD oils that are popular among human users contain hempseed oil and/or olive oil. With our products for pets, that’s a different story: fish oil is the supplement. Salmon oil, for example, or sardine oil. Our fish oil is of exceptional quality, because we know how important this addition is for pets.
The correct dosage of CBD oil for dogs
It is not possible to summarise in one sentence which dosage every dog should get, because each dog is different.
And of course, every CBD oil is different, because the concentration of CBD varies from one oil to another.
Fortunately, there are some rules of thumb you can use when you are planning to give your dog CBD oil.
-1.- For every serving, use 1 drop of CBD oil per 5 kg of body weight. So suppose the dog weighs 20 kg, then that’s: 20 divided by 5 = 4 drops per serving.
-2.- Maintain a maximum of 3 servings per day. Building on the above example: that would be 3 times 4 = 12 drops in one day.
-3.- And some important advice for when you are just trying it out: start with a low dosage. 2 drops a day, for example, 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening.
Keep this up for a week, so that you can see how the dog reacts to it, and then – after about a week – the dosage can be gradually increased.
It may be the case that your dog already benefits from a dose lower than 1 drop per 5 kilos of body weight.

Administering the oil to the dog
Because it is normal among human users to put the CBD oil under the tongue, many owners are inclined to also try this with their dog. But that is often difficult to do. So what is the best method? Very simple: make use of dog food.
Firstly, it is wise to have the CBD oil at room temperature. Also, shake briefly (a few seconds) before use. Then the administration can begin.
Drop the desired number of drops on the food or snack and the dog will simply feast on it on its own. It is important here that the dog gets all the CBD oil. So only add it with a portion for which it is certain that the dog will eat it all.
Could it happen that the dog gets an overdose?
Let’s make it simple: no, you don’t have to worry about an overdose. This is because CBD is not a psychoactive substance, making it impossible for the dog to get high or stoned.
There is no known level of intake of CBD at which the effects suddenly became much more intense, or dangerous in any other way. CBD is no surprise to the body, not even at high doses, and therefore not in dogs.
THC oil for dogs
Some bosses who have tried CBD oil for a while with their dog, become curious about that other oil: THC oil, and sometimes want to know what effect that has on their pet. And that is possible.
Cannabisoilshop.eu does not supply THC oil, but it does supply all the resources that you need to make your own THC oil.
The effect of CBD and THC on dogs
Unfortunately, due to strict European legislation, it is no longer possible for us to make statements about the effects of CBD oil and THC oil. It’s simply not allowed. Therefore, we cannot describe the health reasons for using CBD oil in dogs. Please consult a search engine on the Internet for this.
